Multiple Motorcycle Accident Happened in Lexington Park

On Sunday afternoon, the police fire and rescue staff responded to a multiple motorcycle accident that occurred on Three Notch Road and FDR Boulevard in Lexington Park.

The crash involved several motorcycles and a motor vehicle.

Once the police arrived at the scene, they found four motorcycles and two people lying injured on the roadway. Three motorcycles were involved in the accident, including two motorcycles in the group that were not part of the crash.

Two motorcyclists did not want to get medical help and signed care refusal forms on the scene, and one was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Witnesses said the traffic light at the intersection of the accident was green and then turned to yellow, as the two motorcyclists in the front were approaching the intersection. The riders started breaking to stop at the traffic light, but one of them failed to stop and hit the other motorcycle from the back. The motorcycles side-swept one another.

Troopers found the rear-ended motorcyclist about 40 feet past the intersection.

Maryland State Police is working on the investigation.
