Christian J. Miele, Esq. — Associate Attorney
Christian J. Miele joined the Pinder Plotkin Legal Team as an associate in December 2017.
Christian proudly serves as a member of the Maryland House of Delegates, representing Legislative District 8, which is home to the Carney, Fullerton, Loch Raven Village, Nottingham, Overlea, Parkville, Perry Hall, Rosedale, and White Marsh communities in northeastern Baltimore County. Elected in 2014, he sits on the House Health and Government Operations Committee and the Maryland General Assembly’s Joint Committee on Behavioral Health and Opioid Use Disorders. He also serves as chairman of the Baltimore County House Delegation’s Public Safety Committee.
Christian’s legislative accomplishments include passing the Hire Our Veterans Act, a jobs bill to help unemployed military veterans re-enter the workforce; the Animal Shelter Standards Act, a measure that improves animal welfare in Maryland by creating standards of care for animals being sheltered in publicly-funded facilities; and Janet’s Law, which empowers Marylanders to make more informed decisions when choosing their doctors by requiring physicians practicing without medical malpractice insurance to disclose their lack of coverage to prospective patients.
Christian holds B.S. and M.A. degrees from Towson University and a J.D. from the Emory University School of Law. At Emory, he served as both president of the Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy Studies and editor-in-chief of the Emory Corporate Governance and Accountability Review, an academic journal he co-founded. Prior to going to law school, Miele worked as an administrator at Towson University in its Division of Student Affairs.
He is an active member of several civic and fraternal organizations, including the Lions Club; Highland Lodge No. 184, A.F. & A.M.; Sigma Pi Fraternity, International; Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, International; and the Order Sons of Italy in America. Christian also holds memberships in the American Bar Association, Maryland State Bar Association, and the Maryland Association for Justice. He resides in Perry Hall with his wife, Jessica, and newborn son, Theodore.
