Practical. Professional. Proven.
This office understands that there is never a “right time” for your legal concern. Your life is busy; and now you have to find time to deal with insurance companies pushing you around; or getting rid of harassing debt collectors; or maybe it is just time to get your wills done or re-done. The last thing you need is the hassle of a lawyer who insists that his time is more important than yours; and wants to see you at their “glitzy” office where you have to pay to park. Most days we can see you as early as 8:00 am and many nights as late as 7:00 pm. The office is located at 7602 Harford Rd. three miles south of Beltway Exit 31A on Harford Road, and 2 blocks south of the intersection of Harford Road and Taylor Avenue (directly across from the Parkville Shopping Center). We can see you on your time. We can even come to your house or hospital.
This office also understands that your legal problem or concern is scary, and the last thing you need is to be overcharged for confusing advice. We will never charge a fee for the first 1/2 hour of any consultation. In most cases, at the end of that time we should have a fairly good idea of how we will proceed to have your concerns addressed. If it is a personal injury or work related accident, and we agree to take your case, you do not pay us either a fee or expenses unless there is a recovery by settlement or judgment. If the case is going to be handled on an hourly or flat fee basis, such as for wills, contracts, general litigation, criminal or other matters, our advice will be based on the approach that is the most cost effective and practical solution to your problem. We will give you good common sense advice in an informal setting. And, if we can’t solve your problem – we will get you to someone who can.
In addition to Ed and Jason, our “team” includes two full time paralegals, a bookkeeper and a receptionist. They are our unsung heroes. You will truly appreciate the energy and “bull dog determination” they bring to helping you through the day to day concerns, questions, and details of your case. If that means calling the adjuster every day for a week until they give us an answer, that’s what they do. If that means bugging a doctor’s office until they get us a missing medical report, that’s what they do. (Some lawyers that are “out on their own” literally try to do everything themselves, or have family members help out). Our staff is the heart and soul doing the hard work, so Jason and Ed can use their legal training – not their secretarial skills, on your case.
This office also has a professional advantage in its state of the art computer system. Most law offices still rely on the “Note and Hunt” method of practice. A phone message is scribbled on a piece of paper and the note is shoved on the lawyer’s desk, only to be lost. Or, when you do get through to the lawyer, she tells you that “I have to get the file” to answer the question. This office uses a powerful combination of a case management system called Time Matters™ and high speed scanners. Every phone call, document, letter, or contact with a client or adjuster is recorded in your computer file when it happens. Until we have to go to court or a hearing, we won’t even need to actually touch your file – the information is at our fingertips. So, you get the personal attention of our small office combined with the technology and manpower of a large firm.
The “team” is also ready, willing and able to speak directly with you when you call. No need to waste your time weeding through annoying voice mail prompts during business hours (generally 8:30 am to 5:30 pm). We take pride in having a “live” person answer the telephone during business hours, and we will promptly return you telephone calls.
WHAT WE DO
We Have a Strong History
in These Areas of Practice
Edward T. Pinder graduated from law school in 1986, and has 30 years’ experience as a trial lawyer. Jason A. Plotkin graduated from law school in 2006 and 10 years of legal experience. During that time, they have learned that not all lawyers who accept personal injury or workers compensation or other litigation cases are prepared to invest the time, money, and energy to actually get a judge or jury verdict. From the moment we agree to represent you, our energy is devoted to digging into the details of your case, and finding a “theme” that will accurately describes how this injury or problem affects you on a daily basis. Many times that theme evolves into our opening or closing statement. Whether it is a case where we are arguing for lifetime benefits through workers compensation; or fair compensation for permanent injuries caused in an automobile collision; or representing clients in contract or estate litigation, we promise to bring all our energy, experience, so that we are more prepared than the “other side”. Our office firmly believes that a lawyer needs to be constantly tested and “out on the front lines” to best represent their clients. So, when you ask us – what do you think will happen and what should we do? We can tell you that in front of this commissioner or this judge or in this jurisdiction, we have had this experience. We feel that our energy and experience are essential reasons you would want to hire this office.
How can a lawyer give you advice as to the value of your personal injury, automobile accident, workers compensation case or estate litigation, if they are not trying cases? If your lawyer just “dabbles” and hasn’t actually tried an automobile accident case in years, how does he even know what a “good” offer is? How do you know that he isn’t just trying to get the case over with quickly? The insurance companies are ready, willing, and eager to fight your case in court – will you be ready with a lawyer who has been there day after day? You can rest assured that if you decide to fight in Court, you will have an experienced advocate by your side as you “go into battle”.
